Mark McClurg is the sole owner and working Managing Director of Coffs Solar Energy.
Mark has extensive experience in the retail industry having previously worked previously as an estimator and also a sales manager for a large building supply company in the UK. Mark moved with his wife to Coffs Harbour in 2009 and entered the renewable energy industry by taking on a role as an operations manager for a large start-up solar hot water company. Mark could see the growth potential of the Australian solar PV industry, at a time when the solar hot water industry was slowing, and for that reason went about setting up his own solar PV business. Self Sufficient Homes Pty Ltd trading as Coffs Solar Energy was established on the 18th January 2010. During the last 11 years, the business has grown from just 3 employees to twenty-one. With three installation teams and 8 company vehicles, most people will see our sign-written trucks around town.
Mark is an energetic business owner who sincerely believes that business growth comes from positive customer experiences and resultant referrals. It is for that reason that Mark will personally make sure that all clients of Coffs Solar Energy have their expectations not only met by his team – but exceeded.
An open-door policy, a willingness to listen, and an ethical mindset, makes this business owner well-liked by employees, customers and trade customers alike.
Mark holds a degree in Social Science with majors in Environmental Management and Human Geography.
