There are literally hundreds of solar companies willing to sell and install for you a solar system for your home or business. Obviously, there are not hundreds of solar companies based in the area in which you live. I’ve talked at length about the importance of using local companies, not least because of the warranty implications. That all being said, people may look at a fancy looking website and think that this ‘ABC Solar Pty’ looks pretty good. This company may even have a few testimonials on its website. The question is: are the reviews real or fake. Well in a lot of cases, they are fake and the ACCC has in recent time busted quite a few companies for posting fake reviews.

“The Federal Court has ordered by consent that P & N Pty Ltd and P & N NSW Pty Ltd (trading as Euro Solar) and Worldwide Energy and Manufacturing Pty Ltd (WEMA, formerly trading as Australian Solar Panel) pay combined penalties of $125,000, for publishing fake testimonials and making false or misleading representations about the country of origin of the solar panels they supply” Source https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/145000-penalty-for-fake-testimonials-and-false-solar-energy-country-of-origin-representations

The Court found that video testimonials published on Youtube by P&N and P&N NSW and written testimonials published by WEMA on its website were not made by genuine customers of the companies.

Luckily there is one platform where it is quite tricky to generate fake reviews – Google.

To write a review on Google, you need to have a Google account, and that account is to a certain degree linked to a real person. Google take reviews very seriously. They actually rank companies on their search engine higher if they have a lot of recent Google reviews. Google can and does police the reviews and reviews that are not appropriate can be removed.

The bottom line is that when searching for customer testimonials – look no further than Google. Simply open up Google Maps. Type in the business name and/or address and its listing will pop up on the left of the screen. Click on reviews to see the latest ‘real’ reviews attributed to that company.

    Just had 10 additional panels & a battery installed. Cody & the installers did an excellent job. The office staff were very helpful. Mark should be very proud of his team, I would highly recommend them. 👍 I now have had the unit for a month & have not taken any power from the grid. The battery quickly charges in the morning so we run the house all night. Brilliant.

    We chose Coffs Solar primarily because they were local, the reviews were unwaveringly positive and because the MD chose to deal with us personally...we did not regret it.Our dealings with Coffs Solar Energy via the Managing Director Mr. Mark McClurg were always professional and pleasant. Mark made the choice easy for us, he made the process easy for us. He answered every email, phone call and contact promptly. His timelines were deadly, always....if there was to be a delay his ultra-efficient delightful PA, Suzanne would reach out to us with the relevant message. Mark and his team made the paperwork a breeze. If the information was not available, it was researched and delivered to us, quickly. The installation was frighteningly quick. The team led by the head solar electrician Chris, arrived promptly at the appointed hour and we had solar by 1400hrs. Nick the IT Guru, was another pleasant experience.....he arrived a few days later and connected us to the web with a remarkable app to monitor the performance of the Inverter. A word about the hardware...do not skimp on the inverter...get the "Fronius". Thank you Mark, Suzanne, Nick, Adam, Chris, Karen and the rest of the team. More grateful, happy customers.24/08/2023Following from the above my spouse and I "hummed and hawed" whether to add a Solar Battery to our 4.5KVA panels. The main problem was the initial cost. The increase in power rates on the 1st July, 2023 made our decision a bit easier. We had to sacrifice some capital to preserve our income. CSE through Mark McClurg put together a comprehensive five -option package which we studied carefully and gave approval. The team arrived one morning and added another eight panels on our roof and were gone by 10:30am....far out. A couple of weeks later another team arrives and installs the battery. Same deal...in by 08:00 out by 11:00. The whole process was seamless...the feedback from the office and Mr. McClurg was always available. We found the workmanship superb. We now have a tool to fight the power companies. The Sungrow Battery is at 100% capacity by 09:30 provided the sun is out. Our power use ranges from .1kw to .3kw...hard to beat that. We recommend Coffs Solar Energy and their team unreservedly, we found them totally professional and a high degree of integrity. Thank you Mark and the team for a wonderful experience.

    We had another (foolishly) local Solar company install our system in September and it never ran correctly from the day of installation (it only generated half the kw that the other company guaranteed we would generate). We contacted Coffs Solar to look into the fault and the service from the Coffs Solar team in both diagnosing the issue, providing remote technical support and then promptly sending a technician out to solve the problem all within a few days.     When you want the best in quality, professional installation and importantly SERVICE, there is only 1 company that is worth dealing with, COFFS SOLAR ENERGY. It has been a couple of months now and I can honestly say everything that Mark proposed that the new system would deliver, it has and more.
